For the climate conference 2009 in Copenhagen we built a model of a pure stone bridge and exposed it there for the first time.
The construction consitsts out of fiber-stabilized stone slices, which are vertically and horizontally bonded. The bridge model consists only out of granite, fiber material and a minimal amount of synthetic resin to connect the two components. Due to the application of a continuous layer of fiber material on the bottom side, the construction becomes fully self-supporting.
Such a bridge is even lighter than a comparable bridge out of concrete and above all costs there is much less energy for its production needed.
