Interior car design

With the use of one-side coated, pre-stressed 2 mm thin CFS®plates  it is now possible to design very light armatures for cars out of natural stone.

The difference: the natural stone can be touched and its surface allows a real haptic stone experience. This is contraray to the already existing solutions for thin stone – which all work with broken stone structure and are therefore covered with several layers of varnish. With our technology the stone remains natural, real and of course: unfractured.

These pieces are from stone at the surface, therefore they look like real stone and feel like real stone, at the weight of less than aluminum.

The stone used in this case comes from China. The stone surface is polished, but absolutely undamaged. Along the sharp edge in the middle, two pieces are glued together in agitation. Of course it is not possible to bend the stone around such sharp angles.

But the rolling stone surfaces that are visible on the pictures were straight under their originate condition in the mountains.

Hard to believe – but these two pieces show reality.

The advantage of our technology for the application in the design field is furthermore that it is possible to use any granite or quartzite for this kind of thin stone solution.

Such a design can also be used on outside sections of a car, because the surface is real stone and no vanish that gets brash over time.
